The Adoption Process
Begin by having a good look around right here on the Web. Just click on one of the links above. Every pet currently available is listed. Then come out to visit us at the Green Road Adoption Center, or at our Saturday location at the Ashtabula Mall, and meet our wonderful critters in person.

Begin by having a good look around right here on the Web. Just click on one of the links above. Every pet currently available is listed. Then come out to visit us at the Green Road Adoption Center, or at our Saturday location at the Ashtabula Mall, and meet our wonderful critters in person.
To adopt, you will need to
- Fill out an adoption form, available here, or in person at the Adoption Center.
- If you currently have pets, bring the information on your current vet, or better yet, a copy of your vet references.
- Proof of identity and residence (because of breed bans in certain cities).
- Bring current dogs with you (but keep them in the car, please), to allow them to meet on neutral territory.
- If the pet you choose has already been spayed/neutered, and all paperwork is in order, your new pal can go home the same day!
- If your chosen pet has not yet been spayed/neutered, you will need to make arrangements to pick them up after surgery. Surgery will be scheduled as early as our vets are available, but it may take a couple of days.
