he'll let him take as much time as he needs to feel comfortable.
We adopted Kingsley (now Shadow (black)) and Kenneth (now Cyrus(shepherd)) from you on Jan 4 (my Christmas present from my husband)...They are amazingly loving...They are so much fun.. growing so big... The kids love them....They will be 9 months old July 21....Thank you for your time.
Thank you for my babies!!!!

Mercedes and her new brother, King
We wanted to write and update you on the puppy we adopted from you on Friday, February 4th. We adopted a corgi mix puppy previously named Brianna. She is doing fantastic with us! We have changed her name to Rogue, and she has learned it very quickly. We are working on all the basic commands, and she has already mastered a few tricks. She can give both paws, and already rolls over! When we took her to our vet for a check up, they complimented your shelter on her health and her complete records. It took her a few days to figure out the stairs in our building, but now she is running up and down them with no problems. I have attached a few pictures so you can see how she is doing now. Thanks again, we are so happy to have her as part of our family!!  -- Kelly and Ed

It’s hard to believe we’ve had Josie over two years now. It has been such a rewarding experience for us to have witnessed Josie’s development in her socialization skills. Every time I look at her, I think of how lucky she is to have had a caring staff at the shelter which did everything in their power to ensure that she found a home so that she could experience life – a life not involving abuse, neglect, and confinement in a cage.

Josie now is living life to its fullest, making up for that first year of “life” as she knew it. She now is able to run and play with her 2-legged and 4-legged friends/family in her huge fenced back yard. And then, when she’s all tuckered out from playtime, Josie can come inside and snuggle up with me for a nice ear massage and nap.

I can’t say enough about just how much I love my dog . We’ve formed a bond which is inseparable. I know she realizes that I am someone she can trust and that I will not abandon her.

Cody and Major made the long trip to
Pets Alive in Middletown, NY
and were adopted TOGETHER just three days later.
Hello, I just wanted to give everyone an update on Kimmy/Kira (adopted from Pets Alive in Middletown, NY). She has a new collar, a ball, a wubba, and to her confusion a bed of her own. After four days, she finally considers her bed a place to sleep (for a while I was afraid she would always think the kitchen floor was more comfortable and wondered if I could convince people her bed was a throw pillow).
Kira has been getting along beautifully with her sister Pixel (approx 13 month lab mix). They have had one or two minor discussions but are more than willing to share and to play in the yard. Kira even loves her feline brother Lynx.
She is eating well and hopefully will become a fat dog soon.

Wanted to give you an update on Max (we gave him that name because he is BIG and everything he does he does to the maximum). He has come a long way and is a gentle giant . I attached a pic of him with his sister Rosie (on the right).

This is my daughter with Scruffy. We adopted him from the APL on Sept 18, 2010, 2 months after losing our 15 yr old yorkshire terrier, Chelsea. He has helped heal our hearts and is a wonderful, sweet boy who we adore! Thankyou!
This is SweetP, aka Brandy :) Doing very well and is very comfy in her new home :)
Lucky and Sweety...
adopted TOGETHER!!!
our VERY VERY SPOILED but very well loved dogs Addison and Buster(formerly Circle). Also both Tina and I are VERY grateful for the opportunity you gave us in addopting these two. Thank you :)
This is Buddy, formerly known as Keller two and a half years ago at the APL. He was adopted on Black Friday at Harbor Pets in the Ashtabula Mall. He is the funniest, cutest, "bestest" friend I could ask for. He was extremely shy and nervous when we first adopted him (I cleaned lots of piddle puddles lol) but now he can't get enough attention. He loves everybody, even cats! He gets along great with our cat Mamadoo.
And this is Killer ... known at the APL
11 YEARS ago as Snuggles..this little poodle is the man of the house and is the smartest, most outgoing, playful and loving old man you will ever meet even at the tender age of 14! He is a wonderful dog and I thank god and the apl everyday I have with this little man he is truly a best friend to his entire pack...human, cat , and dogs alike!
This is Katie..known at the APL as Girlie laying on her favorite spot right next to the fire place! I adopted her in Dec. 2010 and after her surgery for her teeth and a little tumor on her rear she has not only fattened up but she has come out of her shell and is just a happy full of energy and far more trusting pup, she is an amazing dog and we are so happy and feel so lucky she is apart of our family!
This is Buddy, know at the APL in Decemeber 2002 as Barry. He was found in the woods in Ashtabula and it took the APL while to catch him. Once they did they had to keep him in a small office at the APL as the kennels were too loud for this nervous nelly. It was love at first sight, but while walking him to my car that cold, s...nowy, winter morning he slipped out of his leash and a my hero Doug from he APL chased him through the woods(45 mins) till he caught him and CARRIED all 75lbs of him out of the woods back to me. Today he's my soulmate who's body has aged before his time. At 9 years old, double hip displaysia and severe arthritis has slowed him down and we're making sure to enjoy everyday to it's fullest. I thank God and the APL for him everyday of my life.
Poppy's
new
forever
family!
This is Bella. We adopted her in the summer of 2007. She's a Cocker Spaniel with a bear haircut. She works very hard everyday at the Bridge Street Boutique. She comes to work with Mommy because she's sick and can't stay home alone, and doesn't like to be confined. What a way to get spoiled rotten. Customers love her and she works hard for her bones.
This is Ozzy(known at the APL as Buddy). We adopted him in December of 2008. He's the "watchdog" at Morell Music and does a great job of watching the students play. He's shy and if he gets off his bed to wag his tail at you you're lucky. He's happy and his family loves him.
This is Butters(known at the APL as Buddy). My family adopted him for my sister for Christmas. He's doing what he does best, playing. He's so happy at his new home and loves to chew everything.
This is our dog, Arwen(her name was Patsy at the APL). We adopted her from the APL 3 years ago...I believe the dog warden found her locked with her puppies in Pymatuming park's bathroom in the middle of winter. How anyone could've left her and her puppies is beyond me. She is a beautiful, loving and loyal dog and we are so happy to have her as a part of our family :) Keep up all the wonderful work you do!!!!!!
Here is an update on Daffy. We had adopted her during the Christmas in July. She has adjusted quicker than we thought. Her and our other dog Buddy are partners in crime :) They get in trouble together all the time. I call them Tweedledee (Buddy) and Tweedledumb (Daffy). Since Daffy always a "duh" look on her face when she gets into something she not supposed to. She is spoiled! She is a great addition to the family, even though she can be a handful with trying to please everyone.
Wanted to give everyone an update....this is Donald, now renamed Vader. We adopted him during the Christmas in July special from the APL. He is the most wonderful dog ever. He has adjusted well and is very ,very spoiled.
BiBi our sweet little Valentine is doing great today! She was very hungry this morning and did a little exploring around the house.
Our TYSON (known as MIKE to you!) was adopted in 2005!!
I think Baxter likes it here!
Boomer (Blitzen as you guys know him) is doing great. He is so loving and has been a wonderful addition to our family. We are totally in love with him!!!:)
We adpoted a 2 year old black lab mix named Jake last July.
