LOST / FOUND PET
Stray dogs brought to the ACAPL by the public and by the County Dog Warden are held for 72 hours (open shelter days) for the owner to come redeem them, unless the animal has a county license. Please contact us as soon as you are aware your pet is missing to ensure we are able to reconnect you with your lost pet should they come through our doors! We post stray dogs entering our care on our Facebook page.
Besides checking our Facebook page, you can call us (440.224.1222) to leave a description of the animal, contact local police departments, and visit the shelter in person. Bring proof of ownership such as a dog license, photos, or vet records.

Found Cats
Healthy, friendly outdoor cats often have homes nearby. Feral cats (unsocialized) belong outside but we do strongly encourage you to TNR (trap-neuter-return) so that the cat(s) don't continue reproducing outdoors. Contact Winky Cats for more information.
If the cat appears injured or in danger, contact us for guidance before bringing it in.
