The ACAPL provides assistance in the form of pet food when possible to community members who cannot afford to feed their pets.
Guidelines:
Guidelines:
- Food can be redeemed during normal shelter hours, unless prior arrangements have been made
- Available pet food assistance is dependent on shelter supply, and specific food requests (brand, etc.) cannot be guaranteed. Please call the shelter at 440.224.1222 and verify we have food to provide you before coming to the shelter.
- You must come to the shelter to fill out a form requesting pet food.
- Proof of residency (Driver’s License, Utility Bill, etc.) is required.
- Name, zip code and number of animals is required.
- Pet food will only be given (if available) once per month for three months. At that time, if you are still in need of assistance, you may reapply.
- Those actively involved in breeding/selling puppies/kittens are not eligible. Arrangements can be made with partner agencies for low cost spay/neuter and/or rehoming of puppies/kittens through the ACAPL/partners.
