• Lots of cat enrichment!  All the snuggles and pets a cat could ask for
• Spot cleaning inside cages throughout the day
• Help assist potential adopters with their kitty matches
• Housekeeping, such as moping, disinfecting, and cage cleaning 

Dog Walking (18+)​

• Lots of dog enrichment!  All the play time and walks a dog could ask for!
• Spot cleaning inside cages throughout the day
• Help with feedings depending on the time of day
• Help assist potential adopters with their doggie matches
• Housekeeping, such as moping, disinfecting, and cage cleaning 
• Morning and afternoon shifts! 

Readin' Tails

• We are asking volunteers to spend time passively reading to shelter animals in need of socialization.
  

Group Dog Walk

• Lots of dog enrichment!  All the play time and walks a dog could ask for!
• Drive a dog pal to a destination (typically Smolen Gulf Bridge) 
• The 3rd Saturday of each month! 

Advocacy, Education, & Outreach

• Participate in on-site and/or community events that educate the public on animal abuse and neglect indicators, prevention, and intervention tactics. 
• Provide information on ACAPL volunteer programs, donations (funding), and future training opportunities. 

Marketing/Fundraising

• Provide detailed description of current funding and financial needs. 
• Promote ACAPL to community members and how funding connects to the overall mission goals. 

Welcome Center/Administration 

Community Service

• Answering phone calls and emails 
• Greeting clients and visitors
• Answering client questions 
• Setting appointments 
• Filing documents
• Creating and maintaining office documentation 

• Complete hours within the shelter for school, court, or employment community service hours

Furever Friends Program

• For individuals wanting to volunteer between the ages of 10-15! 
• Require an adult (18+) present with them at all times
• Complete all forms under the adults name and send an email to [email protected] with the child/teens name! 

Glenbeigh Program

• One volunteer will take a pup and one volunteer will take a kitty to Glenbeigh to socialize and provide enrichment! 

Handy Man/Projects

• Lawn maintenance, such as mowing, raking, shoveling/salting 
• Complete kennel updates/projects to enhance animal spaces
• Fix necessary items around shelter when capable 

Laundry/Organization

• Housekeeping, such as moping, disinfecting, and cage cleaning 
• Preparing animal food, such as frozen Kong treats
• Wash and dry dirty laundry 
• Fold, sort, and shelf clean laundry 
• Lawn maintenance, such as mowing, raking, and shoveling/salting 

Transport Team

• Transport animals to vet appointments, surgery, and events 
• No fixed volunteer schedule, as needed by the shelter 
• Will be notified of need within 24 hours 

Ambassador Program 

• Volunteers must have 30 kennels hours within a calendar year
• Help assist potential adopters with their doggie matches
• Provide information to the community about the shelter and our animals
