VOLUNTEER

The volunteers of Ashtabula County Animal Protective League help support staff in daily operations and care of animals awaiting forever homes. The help of volunteers keeps the shelter running and we are always in need of more helping hands that are willing to provide care and support to animals in need!

Volunteer Opportunities

There's something for everyone at the ACAPL! Check out our full list of current Volunteer Opportunities.

Volunteer Requirements

  • Attend a New Volunteer Orientation
  • To volunteer independently, you must be age 16 or older.  Volunteers 16-17 years old will need parental consent on their volunteer application. Volunteers 9-15 years old may volunteer with an adult partner,
  • Our "Furever Friends" program is a wonderful opportunity for children to get involved at the shelter. An adult partner must accompany and actively work with/supervise their youth partner in the same volunteer assignment throughout their volunteer experience. This allows youth to participate in most assignments, including those that work with animals. Certain restrictions apply.

Becoming a Volunteer

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please complete our online Volunteer Application below to start the process. If you have any questions or would like to receive more information on the process, upcoming events, or the impact of volunteers, please reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator. We look forward to having you join the ACAPL family!
